We spent 5 nights in a double room with fan on ceiling, a balcony. The location on the south coast was comfortable. A cool bonus was nearby Dots Bay House, that offered tea and coffee.

We had an amazing month-long stay at Mount Top, nestled on a hill between Hiriketiya and the beach. The brand new, clean rooms provide a naturally cooler atmosphere with stunning views of the jungle and ocean from the balcony. The owners, a kind and friendly family, regularly brought us juice, fruit, and tea, and we had wonderful conversations about Sri Lankan lifestyle and culture. The location is just a 7-minute walk from the beach but far enough to escape the noise. A true gem!
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

It had a private entrance, which made me feel like I had my own little hideaway. The air conditioning was a huge bonus, especially in the hot weather. The tile/marble floor gave the room a luxurious feel, and I loved how cool it felt under my feet. the room felt cozy and comfortable, and I instantly felt at home.
The only thing I didn't particularly like was the soundproofing. While it was great to have a bit of privacy, I could still hear some noise from outside.

I recently stayed at the Mount Top Bed & Breakfast for a week-long beach getaway. The location was perfect, with a short walk to both beaches, restaurants, and the bus stand. Despite being close to everything, it felt peaceful and removed from the hustle. The room was bright, comfortable, and had a terrace with a distant view of the beach. The family who runs the guesthouse was incredibly sweet and welcoming, even bringing me a snack one evening. They went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable, offering helpful tips and providing delicious homemade meals.
I would recommend this hotel.

I had an amazing time at this place called Mount Top. the room was spacious and comfortable, with a great balcony that offered breathtaking views of nature. I enjoyed watching the variety of birds, peacocks, squirrels, and monkeys during the day, as well as stargazing at night. the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, offering free pickup from the train station and welcome drinks. Although breakfast wasn't available, they arranged for us to have breakfast at a nearby beach location, which we were very satisfied with. the location was ideal, with both Dickwella and Hiriketiya Beaches just a short 5 to 10-minute walk away. it felt like a home away from home, thanks to the warm welcome from the guesthouse family. Cons: Don't have any issues at all! 😊.
